I Hope that all of you had
a wonderful weekend celebrating our beautiful country's Independence Day! We had a fun time preparing and decorating for
the Fourth of July! We shared what our plans were and went over what NOT to do
close to fireworks. We also went over things that were helpful to have in
hand in case of an emergency.
We also had great time making
fireworks with our own hands (well, metaphorically speaking). First, we took a couple of pieces of blank paper.
Second, we folded it into two and traced our hands.
Then, we cut the traced hands and got to use bright colors to paint the
hands. After that, we took shiny glitter and poured as much or as few as they
wanted to then we let it dry and stapled it all together to make it look
like a bursting firework. Lastly, I taped it to the front window of the
classroom and put a sign that read "Cottonwood Creek wishes you a happy
4th of July!"
That was not all! We also did a color by number coloring
worksheet that showed colorful fireworks! The day before Fourth of July one of
the kids brought a movie so we had a movie day and a snack to finish off
the fun week! Hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we did this past week!
