Sand Creek

Hello everyone!

April was an amazing month here at Sand Creek...these kids have had so much fun creating arts & crafts, getting involved in various learning activities and getting involved with recycling.  Gotta take care of our precious resources people!  Now onto our Easter stuff.  The children created their own Easter baskets using newspaper, they decorated them using different colored paints and tissue paper...they were so excited to do this project.  We celebrated Easter by having an egg hunt as well as eating some delicious desserts like cupcakes and we also made some bananas splits.  WOW!!!, we better get our exercise on.  We want to extend a big "Thank you" to Self-Help Enterprises for supporting us and allowing us to have so much fun.  We are currently working on our latest and greatest project for the upcoming Mother's Day...we're making vases using mayonnaise jars and flowers as well as water bottles and egg cartonsHope everyone enjoys the next coming months and we wish every mother a happy and blessed "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY."  Till next time...

Parksdale II

Hello Everyone!

We have been super busy here at Parksdale Village II.  What better way to enjoy our sunny day than to do some cardiovascular exercise.  Today we got our dance on by dancing to "Dance 3."  All you have to do is follow the directions on the TV, it's that simple.  It shows you step by step and when to take those crucial breaks in between the video.

Next we worked on some Earth day projects that focused on our community, specifically the environment.  The environment is where we all live and where we all have a mutual interest...it is the one thing we all share.  Some resources we all use from the environment is water, air, land (soil)...we all need to do our part to be better stewards of the environment for our current and future generations.

Last but not least, Happy Easter everyone from Parksdale Village II. This past Friday as you can see was nice and sunny.  The children enjoyed an Easter egg hunt with lots of candy...remember boys and girls, brush those teeth.  The kid's helped me put candies inside the eggs then I carefully hid them throughout the grass.  Everyone had a blast on our Easter Egg Hunt.  Enjoy the photos below.

Lincoln Plaza

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

It's been a while but finally, all our projects are done and we were ready for Easter. Yay!!!  These kids have worked so hard on their projects that I believe they have earned a movie night next Friday with popcorn and cookies.  Starting this week they will be back at school making sure they get good grades and finishing all of their homework.  Next holiday is Mother's Day!...some of the children already have ideas on what they would like to do for their Mamas on their special day.  Enjoy the wonderful art projects below.

Cottonwood Creek

Hello!!!

It's been a while since I have shown everyone what has been going on at Cottonwood Creek!  I've been trying to catch up on all the Spring activities that we could be doing, and trust me there's lots!  So this past week we worked hard on doing some Spring decorating around the computer lab!  Starting with our usual window display!  The kids really took their time and did a fantastic job in coloring the Spring coloring pages.  We also decided to re do and update the birthday wall!  Each child got their own birthday cupcake on the wall so everyone can know when we are celebrating their birthday!  The children also got to work on some school work and board games so at the end of the week I decided to reward them with a movie for their good behavior!  We watched the Sandlot and the kids loved it!  This week we are going to work on our Easter baskets and decorations...we are also trying to get some more knowledge on earth day which is on the twenty-second of this month!  More to come on that next week!  Until then, hopefully everyone enjoys this Easter celebration!

Rolling Hills

Hello Everyone,

What wonderful weather we've been having.  Everything here at Rolling Hills has been going great!...all of the students have been on their best behavior and are doing really good in school.  They recently completed a comprehensive star test last week and for all their hard work I decided to treat them to ice cream as well as some other delicious treats.  To kick off Spring Break and to celebrate their good grades we threw a party for the children...work hard and celebrate those achievements!   The theme was Spring Fling and I surprised each of the children with a little prize box.  Got to love those surprise box's:)  The children and I have also been watching caterpillars turn into beautiful butterfly's...the students couldn't wait to let them go free.  We also helped each other bake cookies in the kitchen...the children have been up to date and trying their best with their homework.  Kudos to the kids!  Because the weather has been so nice, I've had the children write each day in their journals on a variety of topics helping them to capture their imagination down on paper, before you know it, we will be having some even nicer warm (Hot) weather...butterflies will be flying throughout the gardens/city indicating that Spring has sprung.  On a side note, we also had a coloring contest, the winners were Jackie ,Gabriel, Diego, Jessica, Janessa...Congratulations to all of you that won!!!  Hoping everyone has a nice day, until next time...
