The kids at Sand Creek have been busy crafting some festive treats and crafts. The milk carton to keep the gingerbread house structurally stable is something I never knew about! So, if you were hesitant of making gingerbread houses or they do not seem to stay up try this technique next holiday season!

Here at Sand Creek we have been making lots of Christmas craft activities. We celebrated Christmas day making gingerbread houses and eating some snacks and receiving some Christmas presents, thank you to all the people that always supporting us. We hope everyone have had a great Christmas day and we hope everyone have an awesome new year!

Rancho Lindo

At Rancho Lindo the kids did some amazing crafts and learned how to play White Elephant! Next year the after school coordinator is planning to center her activities around one single theme. Can't wait to see what they have in plan next year!

Kids had so much fun playing the white elephant game. I had to explain to them the outcome of the game. Luckily, all kids left home happy with their gifts and most of all the time we all spent together with joy and laughter.

Parksdale Village

The After-School Coordinator at Parksdale Village provided a great step-by-step guide to a holiday activity. So give this Holly activity a try!

Here are some of the activities that we have made on the month of December.

Santa crafts have to be one of our favorite – crafting with pom poms and cotton balls couldn’t be more fun for kids!

Make Your Own Pop Up Christmas Tree Card

For each card you will need:
  • A blank card
  • The tree template below printed onto green paper (or use white and decorate it with your favorite art technique)
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Thin double sided tape
  • Shape stickers, gems, sequins or patterned paper to finish off your tree
To make:
1. It’s actually easier to decorate the outside of your card before you add your pop up tree. We decided to keep the outside of our card simple by sticking on a stylized triangle tree shape cut from patterned paper. You could draw, stamp letters to make a holiday message, collage or decorate your card in any way you choose.

Rancho Lindo

The kids at Rancho Lindo has created some festive artwork. These are great ways to be creative for gift ideas for children. The after-school coordinator has some great plans for the following month! Please read the sweet message from Rancho Lindo below.

P.S. (the candle snowman is my personal favorite)

Still have many more crafts to post ..this Friday December 21st , we  will be  watching a Christmas movie, they're allowed to bring with them a pillow and a small blanket . I will be serving  pizza ,punch , hot chocolate and Pan Dulce (Mexican Sweet Bread) . We will be having  a white elephant exchange and to finish the day each child will be receiving a little gift from me. Happy holidays from Rancho Lindo
