A: Odor in the court.

Hello Coordinators,

Last week did some amazing and exiting things. For example, I divided the crafts between the boys and the girls. The boys' craft consisted of making an eagle out of Popsicle sticks, while the girls learned to make hair bows. I came across both ideas because of the fast approaching memorial weekend and noticed how expensive bows were at the local farmers market. Of course, a few boys wanted to make a bow for their younger siblings. I taught the girls how to make three different bows. They all loved this craft and insisted in continuing it this week!!!

We also focused on our outside activities, such as volleyball.  This week will be our final game and will be held on Wednesday, as I continue to teach both teams serving techniques, as well as ground coverage. Both teams have worked hard to get to the finale and I know it will not be an easy game for either of them.

Cottonwood Creek

Hello!

The children have been busy with school work to various other activities here, at the after school program.

We have completed some challenges from The Power Play Campaign.  One of them was the Hula Hoop Challenge, that the children had been wanting to do again.  We have repeated it a few times since then as well.

We also have some of the third grade children, that are doing a galaxy project, share some very cool and interesting facts!  They were not the only ones though.  The sixth grade children went on a camping field trip and had lots to share with us when they returned.

As for the rest of the time we have been "investigating" online as to why we celebrate Memorial Day.  The children explained what "uncovered" online and we went on to color and read the worksheets I had previously printed for them regarding Memorial Day.  The kids enjoyed coloring the sheets.  They also did a great job coloring little American flags, which I later hung up to decorate our classroom!

A: On a diet

Biola Village

Hello everyone! The students and I are super excited to show you some of the fun activities we been working on for the last couple of weeks.

We have done a lot of different things.  For example, we did some really fun looking pencils, some heart-shape picture holders for Mothers Day, and an adorable house made out of Popsicle sticks.

We also made these cute picture frames, some art paint on paper plates, and much, much more!

Today I set up a Photo Booth for all the kids.  They had the opportunity of have their picture taken and once they had it, they were allowed to add as many fun things as they wanted to their photo.

Villa De Guadalupe

Hello everyone, here at Villa de Guadalupe the kids made a little story book about a book that they read and liked.  Some decided to make little people as themselves, portraying some of the characters in the book.  They used, glue, tissue paper, eyes, markers & paper for the little books.  Reading can be so much fun, it allows your imagination to take you to far away places.  Enjoy!

Parksdale II

Hey everyone!  Well today on this nice sunny day the kids wanted to have a face painting contest and enjoy an ice cream cone.  What better way to cool off.

Cottonwood Creek

Hello!  Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!

Over at Cottonwood Creek we have had a very busy but productive couple of weeks!  Last week we tried to be as secretive as we possibly could while planning and preparing to celebrate a couple of birthdays. We made gifts and colored cards for a few of the kids that are going to celebrate birthdays in May! We also made a Mother's Day gift!

It took us a week but it was worth it for the end result was great! I will briefly explain how we made clay "flower vases" and flowers for the moms.  First we used air dry clay and molded it into a little vase...the vase could then hold the flower we were going to make.  While the clay was still wet we placed little beads and different things to decorate the vase with.  We waited a couple of days so the clay could really get firm and not break.  After that, we painted the vases and let them dry.  We also made paper flowers to place inside each of the vases...it turned out to be a lovely little gift!
