Lincoln Plaza

Hello Coordinators,

This past week at Lincoln Plaza we made Mother's Day cards for our wonderful mothers.  Since the kids wanted to do some fun and awesome cards that moms will love and cherish forever, we made/incorporated flowers (Lillie's) out of felt. The kids had a fun time making them...we even had one of my high school students decide to make a full on vase filled with Lillie's.  WOW!!!  The younger ones made flowers out of their hand prints. Last but not least, we began our volleyball tournament 3 on 3 before the summer comes at us full force.  Whew!

Rancho Lindo

The students are working on a Mother's Day card...they are also creating a flower/floral pen...each student will make 5 flower pens...the students will tie a ribbon with a little poem on a glass vase...and as you can see, they will be decorating their own pot holders.  Wow, so much creativity!
Happy Mother's Day!!!

Parksdale

Yesterday May 8, 2013 the kids and I played a game called "Hide-n-Seek." This is how the game is played...

Much like Hide and Seek, you need to choose an "it" person and the people who will hide. This is a game in which a number of players hide themselves, to be found by one or more seekers. The game is played by one player (designated as being "it") counting to a predetermined number while the other players hide. After reaching the number, the player who is "it" tries to find the other players.  After School Coordinators you should try it, it is fun!  Have a great week everyone.

Lincoln Plaza

Completed on 4/30/13, the children had so much fun making flowers out of colored tissue paper...unfortunately we ran out of tissue paper and they wanted to make more. Who knew that a simple project could make someone so excited and proud of their art work. Go Lincoln Plaza!!!

On Friday the kid's and I enjoyed the beautiful weather by having an outdoor picnic.  The kid's made their own racing cars out of fruit, see below.  I think it's very important for every child to eat fruits and vegetables...that's why every Tuesday and Thursday the kid's have to bring their favorite fruit. After they are done eating we have 30min of physical activity. So stay healthy and eat healthy.

Rancho Lindo

Hello Everyone,

We've been super busy at Rancho Lindo...the activities I have for the week include Cinco de Mayo arts & crafts: 1) a guitar made out of construction paper and yarn...we actually cut out a pattern to make the guitar,  2) Mexican sombreros using small paper plates, mini pom poms and cups...the kids painted and carefully glued the pieces together,  3) maracas were made by using two cups, beans, pom poms and yarn.  The students placed the beans in each of the cups, then taped the cups together followed by adding colorful decorations to them...lastly, we will try to make our own pinata using a balloon, glue, color tissue paper and newspaper...the activities that I have chosen for the following week will be so much fun...we will be doing a little bit of science and a whole lot of learning.
